PDFTK Builder is a very simple application that allows editing PDF documents. The tool is, in fact, a graphical interface to PDFTK. Thus, it certainly provides an easier way to perform operations that would otherwise need to be carried out through the command line. Fortunately, these operations are accessed from different tabs to help its users find the way without much trouble.
The first of these tabs, labeled “Join” lets you combine pages from multiple documents. You can do this by setting a source page range for each of the documents and arranging them in the desired order. It has the inconvenience that if you need to add different page ranges from a given document, you would have to import its file several times. The second tab, named “Split”, divides PDFs into its constituent pages. Thus, a new file is created from each of the original pages. Again, it has the disadvantage of not allowing to split the document based on a given page range. The third of these tabs, “Background”, includes various features that permit adding a background to each page or the first page only. It can also be used to place stamps and page numbers. Finally, there is the “Rotate” tab, which allows rotating a range of pages in a document. An additional feature of the program lets the users protect documents by using passwords. Unluckily, practically nobody would know how to toggle the password protection panel on without reading the accompanying help. more
